First Trimester
Nausea and Vomiting:
-
Nausea and Vomiting is most common during the 1st TM. It is nature's way of keeping you away from things that may harm baby during a key period of major organ development. There is no cure for nausea in pregnancy, but it often suggests a healthy viable pregnancy. Most women benefit from keeping something small in their stomach throughout the day.

Tips and Tricks:
-
-
It is a time in pregnancy when typically if it sounds like it might settle in your stomach, it is worth a try. If your body is telling you to stay away from it, listen to those cues.
-
Take note of what triggers your nausea: odors, certain foods, movement, getting out of bed too quickly
-
Carbohydrates tend to be the easiest to digest and may settle your stomach. If you can, choose the least processed carbohydrates when possible to avoid additives & chemicals.
-
Sometimes keeping a small snack at your bedside can help to avoid early morning nausea (a small handful of salted cashews or saltine crackers may do the trick).
-
Having a small amount of protein at breakfast - a few nuts, an egg or a few bites of an egg, a piece of cheese
